Description
Entreprises Riparia Inc. was established in 2008 by André Brunelle (agronomist) and Rémi Martel (molecular biologist), combining their respective vineyards located in Saint-Léonard d’Aston and Saint-Wenceslas. The Saint-Léonard d’Aston site was sold in 2010, and since then, all activities have been consolidated at the Saint-Wenceslas location.
The main objective of the vineyard is to highlight Quebec’s native grapevine (Vitis riparia). One-third of the vineyard is composed of this grapevine, which was observed by Jacques Cartier when he landed on Île d’Orléans.
The vineyard and its surroundings are an excellent spot for birdwatching. Ornithology enthusiasts and visitors will find various bird species in the area.
Self-Guided Vineyard Tour : The tour includes information about the cultivated grape varieties and vine cultivation. The tour takes 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the visitor’s pace.
The vineyard visit is available by reservation. The visit is free and includes a tour of the winery (with explanations about winemaking), a tour of the vineyard with explanations about cultivation methods, and a tasting of the products.
