A UNIQUE WORKSHOP
Immerse yourself in l'Ermitage workshop: a unique and important place for creation. This place is the source of many rave reviews from visitors. A jewel of Quebec's cultural heritage. THE HOUSE
Dating from the beginning of the 19th century, this magnificent house, surrounded by a rural landscape, is the birthplace of the painter-engraver Rodolphe Duguay, recognized in the artistic community as one of the masters of engraving in Canada during the first half of the 20th century. His talent as a landscape painter has earned him praise and vibrant testimonials.
This house, recognized as a historic monument, is composed of a complex that includes: the ancestral house, the studio and the natural environment of the property. This ensemble makes it a site qualified as unique in Quebec. Indeed, these elements bear witness to the artist's birthplace, his family life and his artistic career which lasted more than 40 years. Relax in the gardens under the shade of the century-old trees to end your visit.
The house and studio present thematic exhibitions of the painter's works, as well as his furniture and equipment. Take advantage of the rich and varied program to make enriching cultural discoveries.
Recently renovated, the House is ready as ever to welcome its distinguished visitors.
MISSION
The mission of the Maison et atelier Rodolphe-Duguay is to promote the work of painter-engraver Rodolphe Duguay and writer Jeanne L'Archevêque while raising awareness of the arts and promoting the region's artistic creations, in particular, while being open to what is done elsewhere.
Throughout the year, various activities are scheduled: temporary visual arts exhibitions, various activities, recitals and poetry evenings, etc... see the complete program on this site.
